What we're looking for
We are on the hunt for an experienced Food Product & Ops guru with an equal passion for delicious food and excellent operations. We serve fresh food to kids nationwide, so this is the opportunity to have a massive impact and build menus that matter. You'll work closely with our product & ops leadership to analyze data and build improved menus that meet the needs of our customers, ensuring our food is fresh, tasty, and nutritious. This role is perfect for someone who is organized, but loves to get in the weeds.
What you’ll do
- Review data with the team to build and refine menus, dishes, and recipes.
- Develop and test new dishes, ensuring they meet our high standards for taste and nutrition.
- Visit the test kitchen in NYC to prep, test, and photograph food alongside the CPO.
- Pair with product and operations teams to enhance customer experience based on feedback.
Travel as needed to train and collaborate with chefs, helping new chefs set up and optimize their processes.
Who you are
- At least 3+ years of experience in restaurants or catering, with experience working at a startup or a small high-growth company.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent culinary skills with a keen eye for process improvement.
- Experience in school food programs is a huge plus, but not required.
- Friendly and comfortable meeting new people, with strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated, and comfortable being an “IC” or individual contributor
- Process-oriented and excited to tackle real-world problems with significant impact.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
