Overview
We’re looking for someone to join our Founding Team as the first Finance hire at Ordo. The company is growing extremely fast (18 states in 3 years), and the complexity of our business is increasing, so we need your help to keep scaling nationwide. The C-suite is eager for your arrival, and prepared to support you on your endeavor to push finance & accounting in order as we grow.
This is an exciting time to work on finance at Ordo. The company’s core organic business growth is strong, and management has kicked off a new initiative making strategic acquisitions of traditional school lunch companies to accelerate growth.
Looking beyond today’s business, the founders are looking for someone to be a financial partner for the long-term — in Ordo, and any future companies or ventures.
What you’ll do
- Oversee general administrative duties, including payroll, employee tax / benefits, bookkeeping and paying simple company vendors (ie. SaaS, agencies, etc.)
- We want someone to roll up their sleeves and do the books themselves—it’s important to understand the nuances and details of the business at this stage
- Work closely with our sales tax partner on nuanced tax rates and payments and our corporate tax firm for annual / quarterly taxes
- Develop and maintain financial models with the CEO
- Manage finance reporting to Ordo’s investors, and management team, including monthly cashflow meetings to keep a constant eye on business health
- Run the numbers on deals for profitability before promises and contracts go out the door
- Handle large financial transactions and ensure they’re seamless
Who you are
- Have at least 3+ years of experience working in a corporate finance role
- Have experience dealing with venture round formation, Series A, B, and beyond
- Have formal traditional education in finance, accounting, or related fields
- Worked at an early stage startup before and are comfortably getting into the weeds of the business and its numbers yourself
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment where you’re developing financial models for the next 12 months one day and investigating an unidentified transaction category type in our expenses the next day
- M&A experience, specifically private equity roll-ups and acquisitions
- Self-motivated, and comfortable being an “IC” or individual contributor
